Help Us Keep the Music Playing!
Portishead Music Festival, better known locally as BOPFEST, brings three full days of amazing live music to our town, completely free for everyone to attend. We believe great live music should be enjoyed by all, regardless of budget and that’s a promise we’re determined to keep.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our venue donors and a grant from Portishead Town Council, we’re able to make this year’s festival a reality. But to keep BOPFEST running and growing for years to come, we need your help.
Why We’re Asking
Every band, organiser, and volunteer gives their time and talent completely free, that’s the heart of what we do. But putting on a festival still means real costs:
Marketing and promotion: posters, social media ads, website, printing, getting the word out far and wide
Essential running costs: equipment hire, insurance, licences, staging, sound and lighting, and all those little things that keep the show on the road
Building for the future: making sure we have funds in place so we can plan ahead, grow the festival, and keep it free next year and beyond
The council grant and venue support covers a big part of this year’s costs, but it’s not enough on its own to secure our future. We’re raising funds to bridge the gap this year and build a solid foundation so BOPFEST can thrive for many years ahead.
Every Penny Counts and Stays Local
£10 could cover a week of online promotion so more people know what’s on
£25 could help towards printing and posters around town - who's seen the posters on the Bus Stops this year
£50 could help with essential insurance, music licences, temporary event notices
£100+ helps us build a sustainability fund so we can plan with confidence for future festivals
Every single donation goes straight back into the festival. No salaries, no expenses, just more music, better promotion, and keeping it free for our community.
Be Part of BOPFEST
You’ve probably enjoyed our monthly open mic nights at the BOP Club, or seen BOPFEST grow from just 10 acts to over 50 this year. We’re proud to be part of the fabric of Portishead; nurturing local talent, giving new bands a stage, and bringing people together through music.
If you’ve enjoyed the festival, our open mics, or just believe in keeping great free music in our town please consider chipping in whatever you can. No amount is too small, and every contribution makes a real difference.
Together, we can make sure BOPFEST continues to be the highlight of Portishead’s calendar; free, friendly, and fantastic, for everyone, forever.
Thank you so much for your support!
