Weʼve raised £545 to Provide a banner to show our support for Wigan Athletic players while we are away

    Story

    You are my sunshine

Wigan Athletic continue to create amazing football moments despite the odds being very much against them. While off-field there is still uncertainty, on-field we know that Leam Richardson and his team will fight until the final whistle of every game and make us proud to support Wigan Athletic.

Of course, we supporters cannot be there in the stadium to roar them on, but we want every player wearing the badge to realise that we appreciate their monumental efforts.

We want to buy a banner that shows our feelings now and can be used as a reminder that no matter how bad things get we will support this football team.

The first two banners have cost a total of £360 from the brilliant Nectar Creative Design Company in Leigh. It has been suggested that we provide another at the end of the season or the beginning of next season, so I have placed the remaining money in a holding account to sort that. I will update on the forums and on Twitter when I have sorted.

I am closing the JustGiving page today, thank you everyone for your support. We have raised an amazing £545 for supporters' banners at the DW. I am hoping that the first two banners will be in place for tonight's game against Charlton but it's a bit of a race as they are only being delivered this morning. Hopefully the players and management will get a boost from seeing them in place. Our Supporters Liaison Officer Jason has agreed to put the banners up when they arrive.

What a win last night! The final seconds of the game, I fell out of my chair. Thanks again for your donations, we have two banners on order and the funds should cover the costs. If you know someone who wants to support this, we still have six days to go. If there is anything over I will tell you how we are going to spend it - on supporting Leam and the boys. We have spoken to the club and they are happy to display the banners and I will update you when they are in situ Thanks again and Up The Tics
