    Story

Please consider making a donation to Red Seal Rescue Safety Boats in memory and celebration of the life of Barbara Darling.

Red Seal Rescue Safety Boats is a North East charity dedicated to supporting and developing youth skills and providing maritime rescue and safety boat support to local events.

Barbara spent many years nurturing and developing youth and junior sailing in the North East and many events and activities she was involved in would not have been possible without the support of Red Seal.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, many of their fund-raising opportunities and activities have not been running in 2020 and the charity needs your support to ensure they are able to continue to operate in the future.

This charity mirrors so many of Barbara's aspirations, values and hopes for youth development and the family has long supported the charity's activities.

Dear All, I just wanted to update everyone on where the donations you made in mum's memory have gone and what is happening. Red Seal has put the money towards an additional boat which will enable them to expand their operations, better support events & provide more opportunities for young people in the area to learn water based skills. The boat will be officially named "The Barbara Darling" and & launched at Bassenthwaite SC on 19 June. The family will be there to celebrate this fabulous donation you all made possible. Thank you.

Thank you for all your donations. Red Seal have decided to put the money towards a new safety boat to complement their existing fleet and enable them to deliver more activities and cover in the region. More information about when the boat will be launched will be shared when we know the details. Thank you for all your donations, comments and kindness. It is lovely to know that her legacy will live on in such a tangible way.
