Story

Barbara Davies, who worked as a nurse throughout her career was diagnosed with arthritis in October 2016, and needs a total knee replacement as a result. Following the government's change of policy to delay all none urgent procedures, the operation has been cancelled five times. After months on a hospital waiting list, it has come as a great shock to see such neglect in the NHS. Following numerous cancellations, Barbara has been left in severe pain that is rapidly increasing causing insomnia and reliance upon daily pain relief medication, which she has to take several times each day. This has made her feel isolated in her own home, and has had an extremely negative effect upon her emotionally, and physically, causing depression as a result.

As her friend, I cannot ignore her plight and do nothing about this as she gives so much to everyone else, and deserves to live her life to the full, and pain free. I am therefore asking people who feel sympathy for her situation to make a small contribution so that Barbara's GP can refer her to a private clinic, where she can have a total knee replacement, and draw a line under this miserable ordeal.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has taken time to read about Barbara's situation.

God Bless you all!
