Story

Time to warm up and lace up. Today, I'm reaching out with a heartfelt plea to support my charity run. Each stride I take isn't just a step forward; it's a symbol of hope, fuelled by your generosity. For every £10 donated, I pledge to cover 0.1mi, all in the name of SCN8A. But this isn't just about running; it's a chance to shine a light on the challenges faced by those with SCN8A and their families.

SCN8A is an extremely rare genetic disorder that causes a wide range of neurodevelopmental disorders, ranging from mild behaviour or movement disorders to severe developmental and cognitive delays. SCN8A is frequently characterised by multiple, frequent, treatment resistant epileptic seizures that can be prolonged.

As the countdown begins, let's make every moment count. Donations for my run will close on June 16, 2024, allowing us to tally our collective impact. My run is set for the 19th June 2024, What would have been my gran's Birthday. I will keep this page updated as we get closer to the date for those interested on my preparation journey and following along with my run.

Every mile, every pound—each one carries the weight of our shared commitment to my cousin, Hollie, and the cherished memory of my gran, Barbara. Together, let's turn empathy into action, one step at a time.
