I've raised £6000 to support local food banks

Many families don’t have the money to afford enough food for their families, and are reliant on food banks. Food banks need a constant supply of money from personal donations so they can keep buying food.
Three boroughs closest to us – Tower Hamlets, Islington and Hackney – have some of the most destitute areas in the country. Up to 56% of children there live in poverty.
This is our third year of running this appeal. Whatever money we receive after JustGiving's costs goes to food banks in those neighbouring boroughs.
Many Barbican residents are suffering as well. But many of us are in a safe position and would like to find a good way to help. Please make a payment to help keep local food banks running.
There are a lot of other demands on your generosity. But even if you have already given much this year, you may still feel there is something particularly worthwhile in helping struggling households closest to our own Barbican home. Every £1 is a child’s supper.
We may not be able to guarantee a happy new year, but perhaps a less frightening one for some.
Information on the progress of the appeal can be found on www.barbicanliving.co.uk .
