What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

Story

The North Kent Downs at Highland Court, near Bridge, Canterbury is part of the countryside designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. (AONB) It is highly accessible to walkers, cyclists and horse-riders with its many footpaths and bridlepaths and ancient pilgrimage routes, the Via Francigena from Canterbury to Rome and The North Downs Way, another historically important pilgrimage route, crossing it. It is a landscape of orchards, downland, pasture and woodland - home to an abundance of wildlife - with far-reaching views to the coast and views over hills and valleys. It's a place of tranquility, a place of regeneration and restoration for the human spirit.

Quinn Estates working with Highland Court Investment Company are proposing a large-scale housing development of 175 expensive holiday houses together with an industrial hub and extensive football and rugby facilities.

The development proposal is on land which include acres of highly-productive farmland. This area of countryside is outside the parameters set by Canterbury City Council's Local Plan. However this has not stopped the developer from unjustifiably claiming that the proposed development will enhance the area. We have to stop this proposal from becoming a reality. Professional help will need to be engaged in our fight. Please donate what you can to help stop this insidious threat of creeping urbanisation on our rural heritage. Thank you

Most anxious to preserve this outstanding countryside and farmland. Feel this proposal is unwarranted and distressing...for people, wildlife, local quality of life and our national heritage.
