Story
Donkeys in Bulgaria are treated very badly, (akin to Victorian times In the UK but worse).They carry heavy loads in searing hot summer weather and are still grafting away in sub zero winter conditions. It is common in towns & villages in Bulgaria to see donkeys pulling carts with the whole family on plus a load.
The living conditions are harsh and there is no pleasure in being a Bulgarian donkey. They often have no shelter and are chained and weighted by a shackle to the ankle.
My vision is to see these donkeys are treated with love and respect and those that are too old to work can retire at our sanctuary in peace and comfort.
