What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

In the summer of 2017 my son suffered serious injuries which resulted in paralysis from the waist down.  From the moment he woke up in Intensive Care and was told it would be a miracle if he ever walked again, he was determined to fight back and regain as much as he could of his mobility, maybe even one day being upright again.  Who knows!

Having spent 13 months in hospital my son has now been discharged. There is various exercise equipment that he needs that can not be found in his local gym as it is not fitted out for disabled people. So any donations towards this would be gratefully appreciated in order for him to build up his strength.

If you feel you want or are able to contribute towards getting Barney Back On The Road then any donation, will be gratefully received.  As his journey to recovery proceeds he will keep you updated on his progress, always with the hope of some gobsmacking piece of news to give you.

Thank you

I have left hospital now. It is quite a shock to hit the outside world after being enclosed for the past 13 months in Hospital. I am still raising money to help make my beginning health wise easier, such as extra Physio treatment. All the staff at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital were fantastic! Thanks to them I have progressed a lot further forward in health and fitness wise than I had not been accepted there. I can not thank them enough. Thank you. Barney

Hello to all my supporters. Since leaving the two main hospitals in Oxford the JR and The Nuffield 5 months ago I have finally got into the Number 1 spinal rehab in the UK and possibly the world. Having gone from having no strength to move out of bed, I am now able to wheel myself around on far better chairs at Stoke Mandeville that they practice me on so I know what I need to buy when I leave. I am able to get in and out of bed and onto my wheel chair on my own as well as showering etc. I am also now able to transfer in and out of a car
