Story

The Barn Owl Centre, Gloucester rehabilitates and cares for captive bred owls and birds of prey, many of which have had a tragic start to their lives.

Through the care and compassion of Vince and his team, these birds are looked after and loved. However, the Barn Owl Centre needs your help.

The Barn Owl Centre has been at Netheridge Farm, Gloucester since 2008 and due to various setbacks the Centre has never been able to move from temporary to permanent buildings - something which has meant they have never been able to open to the public.

While the birds have accommodation, the aviaries they are currently in were never meant to be permanent. With weathered timber and out-of-date aviary mesh, their homes are functional but not the best these birds deserve.

These are birds which cannot be released into the wild due to the impact their previous lives had on them. Instead, the Barn Owl Centre regularly exercise and fly the birds and let them live as naturally as possible. More information on how the Barn Owl Centre rehabilitates and cares for its birds can be found at www.barnowl.co.uk

Fifty birds live at the Barn Owl Centre, all of which require new homes - that works out at just £300 per aviary.

With your help, the Barn Owl Centre can be made over, giving these fabulous animals a proper home and give you the chance to see them thrive.

Don't forget to leave your name with your donation - your name will be added to the "Friends of the Barn Owl Centre" display wall!
