I've raised £500 to purchase a portable defibrillator for Barnstaple Ability FC

Barnstaple Ability FC is a football team for people with additional needs. Players have conditions such as autism, adhd, cerebal palsy, downs syndrome, learning difficulties and mental health issues.
Our volunteer coaches offer weekly training sessions and monthly tournaments in the Devon Ability Counts League in addition to county and national competitions.
We are fundraising to purchase a portable defibrillator. This would come with us to our training and tournament venues and be available to all other participants. None of our current training venues have a defribillator. This will be a great resource for our club especially as several players have heart conditions. It will mean that treatment can be given immediately in an emergency And none of us know when that could happen. The statistics for recovery using a defibrillator are:
If defibrillated within the first minute of collapse, the victim's chances for survival are close to 90 percent. For every minute that defibrillation is delayed, survival decreases by 7 percent to 10 percent. If it is delayed by more than 10 minutes, the chance of survival in adults is less than 5 percent.
We are holding a grand draw at our annual presentation evening on 13th July To raise funds. Many local companies have kindly donated prizes including, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, The Eden Project, RHS Rosemoor, Air Extreme and Coombe Martin Wildlife Park. There are also hair and beauty treatment vouchers available and for foodies there are resturant and pub vouchers. T shirts and a Devon surf school hoodie are also on offer as are numerous football related items.
We are asking people who don’t live locally to make a donation to our fund via this page.
If you would prefer to buy a raffle ticket then please say that in the comments section and we will put your tickets in the hat for 13th July.
Thank you very much From all of us.
