I've raised £5000 to Help Winstons Wish and The Alder Centre in their support of Bereaved Children and their Families.

This walk is in Memory of Lauren Johnson and Jake McGurgan
I am looking for your support with my challenge to walk over 1000km in 40+days across central Spain starting from Seville on the 25th.April. and finishing in Santiago De Compostela. My Friend Alec Lezemore, who is also our Laurens godfather is joining me on this journey.
We want to help raise funds for two worthy charities Winstons Wish and The Alder Centre. They both have the difficult and challenging task to help and guide children through the many breavement senarios children have to navigate in their early and teen years, along with their familes.
On the 28th October 2016 our daughter Lauren aged 33years old was tragically killed when a car mounted the pavement and killed her. She left a husband David and two babies, Daniel who was 8 months old and a daughter Cara who was 2years 6 months.
On the 17th.February 2020 our son Jonathan and his wife Laura gave birth to a beautiful baby boy , baby Jake died the following day.
Our Children, Grandchildren and Grandparents have had to deal with many difficult days and will continue to do so. But thanks to the support that people who work for these charities their help makes the struggle in life that little bit easier.
There are many familes that need help “Now” and unfortunately in the future. With so many things happening in the world recently with Covid, Ukraine and the continual lose of people on our roads there will always be support required. Like ourselves you never think something like this will happen to your family and/or friends.
As a lyric from one of our Laurens favourite Killers songs resonates with all our family and it’s the words “ I don’t Shine if you don’t Shine” .
We have a responsibility to give all our children hope for their futures.
Please take some time to visit the Charity websites to understand fully what they do

Thanks for all your support from the McGurgan and Johnson family.
