I've raised £500 to donate the world's first Table Tennis Alzheimer's Therapy Table to a care setting in Hastings area, by running the Hastings Half Marathon!

I work for BAT Foundation , a charity I helped start, that uses the power of ping pong to help those living with Alzheimer's!
As part of our work, we developed the BAT Therapy Table...a purpose built table tennis table to enhance the therapeutic experience and play of table tennis for those living with Alzheimer’s and their carers.
I want to help donate one of these speciality tables to a care setting in my hometown area of Hastings...which is why once again i'll be running Hastings Half Marathon on 18th March to try and raise funds towards this.
Considered one of the best half marathon's on the planet, Hastings Half is a challenge from beginning to end...due mostly to the amount of hills on route.
However, the crowds, the music, and the atmosphere all the way round can't be beat...plus you get a glorious last 3 miles along the seafront.
Table tennis trumps most other exercise intervention by being a social activity that promotes joy and laughter between individuals.
Just one BAT Therapy Table can provide a truly positive therapeutic impact; not just short term, to an individual - but long term, to an entire care community.
So you know what i'm trying to do and why...but how does the table help?
It's white playing surface creates contrast that enhances focus, attention, and perception, whist the extended borders help the table stand out from the background.
The attached side panels increase spatial awareness and create a secure, non-distracting, and comforting play zone, whilst also boosting peripheral vision by keeping the ball in play for longer.
