Story

I have been involved with Bath 31st Cubs and Scouts for over 5 years, and I have been constantly impressed by the dedication and commitment of the volunteer leaders, and the range of inspirational opportunities they give to the children.

Since becoming the Scout Leader, I have discovered how hard it is to organise interesting and exciting activities on a shoe string budget with minimal resources. Your money will be spent on new equipment to expand the range of activities we can provide, and subsidising experiences to make scouting accessible to all.

It is easy to assume that all children have had the same experiences as our own children or we had as children. But the reality can be very different. Many of my Scouts don't own and can't ride a bike, some can't swim, a few had never been to the beach, most don't get to cook at home or use hammers, axes and saws....thanks to Scouting and the fund received these are all activities/skills they will get to develop and enjoy in safely environment.
