    Story

Created originally by Mike McCarthy and Steve Phillip following the tragic loss of their sons Ross and Jordan by suicide. The BatonOfHopeUK is fast becoming the highest profile and biggest impact suicide awareness and prevention initiative the UK has ever seen. Our primary purpose is to help move the UK towards a zero suicide society. We are doing this by raising awareness about suicide and suicide prevention, opening up conversations around mental health and wellbeing and encouraging workplace, educational environments and communities to all help play their part in saving lives. This Summer our beautifully designed Baton will be shining the light of hope touring across the UK.

We have had conversations with hundreds of people already, charities and other organisations and companies who share our ambition. We have had over 80 meetings with MPs and have over 120 MPs supporting us so far. We have produced a Workplace Charter to help companies put in place life saving measures and later this autumn will produce our second Charter form Schools and Educational settings.

By donating to this page, you will help to fund the tour which is the first of its kind in the UK, our continued work on charters and the important work that we are doing in schools, university settings and the workplace as well as in communities.
