The "Batteries Included" project was formed with the simple aim of creating the UK's first self-powered heritage "slam-door" train using modern battery technology.

The project has been kickstarted with £14,896 of initial investment with the first of 3 vehicles purchased and sent for rebuild, however your support is needed to keep the project moving forward at pace.

The project vehicles and all component parts are recycled and rescued from certain scrap/landfill.

We have been fortunate enough to have industry support from organisations such as Unipart Rail, The East Kent Railway Trust, Southern Preservation Group, The Southern Electric Traction Group, Network Rail and Rampart Engineering, Derby.

This is one of the most ambitious heritage projects to date, and all donations will be gratefully received and used carefully.
