Story

The Bawden's are running the Bath half marathon to raise funds for BASICS Cornwall

Why BASICS Cornwall?

BASICS Cornwall is a charity that provide volunteer Doctors to attend incidents on behalf of the ambulance service. There is no NHS funding for Doctors to attend serious incidents. All of our Doctors training and equipment is raised by charitable donations.

BASICS Cornwall Doctors attend incidents at the request of the ambulance service where their advanced skills are needed. They attend in their own time, own vehicles and provide enhanced skills. These skills including giving an anaesthetic or providing surgical procedures. Their work has helped to save numerous lives over the years.

Dan is a committee member for BASICS Cornwall and is aspiring to become one of their volunteer Doctors.

Why the Bath half?

Mike has gotten the running bug and has always wanted to do the Bath half. He will turn 60 on race day this year so Ash and I have agreed to join him. It's a great opportunity to raise some much needed funds to help BASICS Cornwall's lifesaving work.
