Story

As many of you know, I am in Jinga, Uganda for most of the month. I am visiting as part of a school link that has been on going for the last 30 years. We are funding a number of schools improvements (for example in the past we funded the building of girls dormitories at St James Secondary School) student bursaries, so they can attend school and community projects in and around Jinja. We support a disabled lady named Granny Joyce, we have build latrines and teamed up withe Busoga trust to install wells, for safe drinking water. We will also be visiting ASCO, a street childrens organisation. Last time we visited, we bought 10 new mattresses for the organisation.

I would welcome any donations, my colleague Steph Davies and I are taking notes of all the things we wish we had known before arriving and all the things we wish we had brought along with us. On our return, our plan is to arrange for a crate to be sent to Jinja, containing all the things the schools and charities we visit are crying out for and are difficult to access here. Much of the money will go into transport costs but also towards matetials and supplies: Everything from textbooks to maps to bras and sanitary products.
