    Story

Today, we are passing through an exceptionally difficult time due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. While we stay at home in order to protect the NHS and save lives, we still like to do an extra bit to make a difference.

We offer special gratitude to the medical staff—doctors, nurses and other support personnel—who are working on the front-line to save lives at great personal risk. Their service is indeed compassion in action.

Therefore, on the auspicious occasion of 2564th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha (Buddha Jayanti) celebration (7th May 2020), we are raising funds for the NHS Charities COVID-19. The money raise will be used to support front-line NHS staff and volunteers working night and day to protect us against COVID-19.

So join us to make a difference while we stay at home. Absolutely any donations from small to large will be greatly accepted to give all we can to help out the people that are keeping our country alive.

The Buddhist Community Centre UK (BCCUK)

The Buddhist Community Centre UK (BCCUK) was founded in 2007 with a vision to establish a monastery to serve the growing Buddhist Community in the Southeast region of the United Kingdom. After several years of hard work, dedication and fund raising activities by our dedicated committee members, a former social club was purchased and transformed into a traditional monastery.

Our monastery was consecrated and named by His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche as ‘Tashi Dongak Choeling’ on the 18th of July 2014. Following this, our patron His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama officially inaugurated our monastery on the 29th of June 2015.

We are a registered charity organisation run by a team of volunteers with an aim to provide a peaceful place for meditation, and a community of support for the practice of Buddhism.
