Story
Hi, I’m Jamie Campbell, Bar Steward and Groundsman at Burnley Cricket Club — and on Sunday 23rd August I’ll be doing something I’m already regretting…
A Wing Walk.
That’s 700ft in the air, at 110mph, held on by a couple of straps and (most likely) sheer panic from one terrified bar steward.
Why? Because our Burnley CC Junior Section needs support — and I want to help make sure kids in our town can keep playing cricket.
Why this matters
When I first heard how much it costs to run the junior section, I was shocked. And when I found out the main sponsor had fallen through, I knew we had to do something to fill the gap.
We need to raise thousands of pounds each year to keep junior cricket going — so every donation genuinely makes a difference.
What your donation helps fund
Your support will go directly towards things like:
- New kit and equipment (bats, balls, pads, helmets, stumps)
- Coaching training and qualifications for volunteers
- Match fees and league costs
- Insurances and safeguarding requirements
- Ground maintenance and facilities
And all the other behind-the-scenes costs that make junior cricket possible
Please donate (if you can)
Whether it’s £5 or £50, it all adds up — and it helps us keep giving local youngsters a place to play, improve, and be part of something brilliant.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page — and for supporting Burnley CC Juniors.
