Bangladesh has the highest percentage of its population living below the national poverty line in South Asia (Bequeaith,2017). The Bangladeshi government is having to tackle extreme famine, limited access to education and the world’s fastest growing refugee crisis. These factors have an extreme impact on the lives of local people as well as the Rohingya refugees limiting access to basic human rights such as food, sanitary water and shelter. This leaves children as the most vulnerable group within society as they are prone to famine, human trafficking and child prostitution. Bangladesh now has over 4.8 million orphans and a growing number of street children who are in danger.

My late grandfather Gulam Kibria Chowdhury was passionate about improving the lives of the less fortunate so he opened up Eatim Orphanage seven years ago. This orphanage is home to 150 children and currently provides food, clothing and shelter as well as an education (Madddrassa). With your generous donations, we will be able to continually provide these orphans with support and hopefully expand the orphanage to increase our family. More and more children are seeking assistance at the orphanage, hence, the expenses have increased significantly. With limited resources and funds we urgently need your support. With combined efforts, we can help keep this orphanage running and allow it to continue to be a home for these vulnerable children! Your donations will be put towards the costs for food, education, medical bills, and residence for the children. For every £40 raised, we will be able to provide nutritious meals for one child for an entire month! An additional £40 will cover the remaining costs. Your generosity will protect our children from being victims. Remember, there is no such thing as a big or small donation. Donate what you can and do it with the right intention.
