Story
To raise money for 2 charities that have become close to my heart, I will be running a marathon everyday for the duration of August. That's 31 marathons in 31 days - beginning on the 1st August.
The charities are: For Ava foundation and Freshfields Animal Rescue.
ForAva Foundation raises funds to create ‘Be there’ boxes for kids and families affected by childhood cancer and stem cell transplant. The boxes contain treats and essentials to help support children and their families while they are in isolation. Each box is bespoke for the child/young person with items to keep them entertained and hopefully keeping them distracted. The boxes also contain vouchers for the parents/carers and siblings to help with living costs or treats.
Freshfields Animal Rescue is a non-profit organisation that cares for abandoned, abused and unwanted domestic and small farm animals. They also look after sick and injured wildlife. They also provide a rehoming service and urban conservation initiatives.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way to helping both the families going through a tough time and the vulnerable animals that rely on charities such as Freshfields to care for them. I believe that raising money for charities is considerably harder than running 31 consecutive marathons.
I will also be blogging about my experience.
