Barratt Homes North East hope to raise £10,000 for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, a charity that we are passionate about and have supported since 2019.

The North East division have completed a number of challenges and will be organizing events to continue fundraising efforts which were unfortunately stalled due to the Covid pandemic.

With your valued support, all money raised will help make a difference to the lives of babies and children cared for at Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.

This last year at Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice, we’ve had to adapt and accept what a Covid-19 world looks like.

For us, it has meant event cancellations, a plummet in donations and closing the doors to the Middlesbrough hospice for the very first time.

As a result and in order to stay open, we have implemented a reduced service of four days and three nights per week and said goodbye to much-loved colleagues in an organisational re-structure.

What was once a hospice open seven nights a week to ensure every family is cared for, Zoë’s Place is now having to operate a waiting list opening just 3nights 4 days a week to three families each day.

Whilst these have been necessary and crucial steps to protect our most vulnerable babies and children, it has come at a cost to the families reliant on the 24/7 services Zoë’s Place would usually offer. Our families are now without the extended support system or the spare few hours to run errands; something that sounds so mundane, but to our families means everything.

It costs £25 every hour to deliver this specialised care to each of our babies and their families. With the valued support from our fundraising community, you’ll be making a difference to the lives of the babies and children we care for.
