I will be participating in the student Colour Run on 29th April to raise money for the Beards & Books program.

The money raised will be used to cover three expenses:

1. To purchase essential books that will form the base of the curriculum
2. To cover the costs of printing and branding
3. To cover costs of web development

What Is Beards & Books?
Beards & Books is a reading programme for children and young people. The programme aims to improve literacy skills by exploring African and other international history and literature.

Why Is Beards & Books Needed?

There is no educational programme that embraces, teaches and showcases multi-ethnic history in Sheffield. Beards & Books wants to fill this gap by providing a safe space for children and young people to learn about African and international history while supplementing their mainstream education.

Our Vision
In order for Beards & Books to exist, The Basil Griffith Library, which is located in the Sheffield & District Afro Caribbean Community Association (SADACCA), was recently decorated to provide a welcome and modern environment for users.

Our vision is to make Beards & Books the most effective holistic educational program in the UK by incorporating history, meditation, agriculture, nutrition, literature and critical thought into our curriculum.
