In Goa I met Bear...He was only 3 weeks old. He came to the Animal Rescue Centre I was Volunteering at.
After posting him, and many other puppies and kittens on my FB page, I was contacted by someone in who was interested in adopting him from Australia.
I took Bear from the centre after an outbreak of Parvo, as this disease is fatal in pups under 6 weeks old, and I wanted to give him a fighting chance of a forever home.
Its a long process for Australia and Expensive. We vaccinated and steralised Bear, and prepared him to go, but the laws are so stringent that the blood test approved by the Rabies Centre in the EU, was not enought to get him to the land of opportunity.
In the meantime he had nearly lost his lfe when he was run over by a speeding motorbike and dragged by his head under the front tyre...I did not expect him to survive....There was alot of blood, but thankfully it happened as I was leaving the animal rescue centre, and his injuries were manageable.
I continued to care for Bear, and when he was one year old, we realised Bear was attached to me, and that the cost to send him to Australia would be in excess of 10K AUD.
After a very long journey together in India, I have had to leave for a longer Visa Run, and I left Bear in the care of someone I thought I could trust.
Unfortunately Bear did not agree with my decision, and he escaped and made his way back to our beach home where we lived. This has been an awful experience to know he loves me so much, and that I can not return to Australia with him.
I had planned to see my daughter after nearly 3 years, but I had nowhere to go, but back to India
What I didnt expect was to find that Bear had lost a considerable amount of his body weight in the 5 weeks Id been gone.
WHY DO I NEED CROWDFUNDING?
I want to be able to take Bear to Australia.
Already I have spent $3500AUD in bringing him to Israel where he must stay until he is approved to go to Australia.
