Story

Beats and Grind is a small, local business with Community at its heart.

We have always strived to support those in need and offer a space where everyone is welcome, whether that's for a coffee, a chat or to just to come and chill

Recently we started a social cricket group with some of the coffee regulars and others which has led to some great connection, friendships and networking. It also gave us the idea of using this community to raise some funds and awareness for a local group of volunteers that support 75+ families with Food and Essentials in this very difficult financial time.

Catford Fridge Ltd /

Catford Fridge is a non profit, zero waste community fridge run by local volunteers. We provide weekly surplus food parcels to roughly 75 families in our community who struggle with food insecurity. The fridge was set up by local residents in 2019 through the help of the Hubbub Fridge network and funded by Lewisham council. We are all about fighting food waste, helping others and building community spirit. We have teamed up forces with Lewisham Food Cycle, and together every Saturday we join forces at the Lewisham Irish Community Centre where they cook for guests and we hand out our food parcels.

We have organised a 30 over Charity Cricket Match between the Beats & Grind XI and Brockley CC ( https://brockleycc.play-cricket.com/Aboutus ) at the St Dunstans Sports Ground in Catford

The Match will take place on Sunday September 11th 2022 / 12pm start

Drinks, Food and Cricket - sound like a perfect end to the summer

Plus we hope to raise a good amount of cash and awareness for the amazing guys at Catford Fridge Ltd .
