Thank you so much to the St Albans Soroptimists for inviting me along to their meeting recently to tell them all about the World Scout Jamboree. I enjoyed meeting you and thank you for your very generous donation to my fundraising! I can't wait to come back and tell you all about it!

My name is Becca Britton, I am 14 years old, and a young leader at the 5th St Albans Guides. I have been chosen to take part in the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea and will be the only Guide going from St Albans. The theme will be “Draw your dream”; it is an amazing International Camp where 40,000 Scouts and Guides from across the whole world come together to learn, have fun, and make friends. Like the Olympics, it is held every 4 years, and moves around the world. After 2 years of COVID, and far too much home schooling(!) …this trip will be more exciting than ever, and it will be a wonderful experience to be around thousands of new people after being isolated for so long!

I am so excited about the opportunity to travel for three weeks without my parents and have a real adventure on the other side of the world! I will be able to learn from the experiences of others, whilst having fun and challenging myself to take part in lots of new activities.

I am just at the start of my fundraising journey, the full cost of this jamboree is £4000, and my goal is to reach this by the end of 2022. Any donation you are willing to help support me with will be deeply appreciated!
