Story

Becca is a bright and funny teenager, the daughter of Audrey & Paul and twin sister to Megan. She attends school, enjoys the outdoors and time with her dogs.

Becca has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Standing is so important for children with cerebral palsy who can't weight bear independently. For Becca this is especially important as she needs to regularly stand to maintain the length of the tendons behind her knees and to maintain a healthy skeletal structure.

A Baffin Trio system would convert from a supported chair into a standing frame, avoiding the need for her parents to lift and transfer her from one piece of equipment to another. Becca's current standing frame has been out of action for over a year so her standing time is currently limited to when she's at school. Each month this continues, has a potential impact on Rebecca's health.

Funding for equipment for Rebecca has been a constant battle for her parents, waiting over 8 years for a funded wet room meant carrying Becca up stairs and holding her over a bath for washing. This has been physically challenging for her parents as well as difficult for Becca. Whilst this challenge has been resolved, it demonstrates how difficult it is to successfully obtain funding from local authorities and similar sources.

Audrey White, Becca's mum is a popular and well liked person, always willing to help and support others. A group of Audrey's friends and colleagues have committed to fund raising to purchase a Baffin Trio for Becca as soon as possible. Please give generously if you can to support this cause.
