    Story

My name is Bec and im a 41 year old mum of a gorgeous daughter. In 2015 i managed to break both my ankles from switching a light switch on. I know crazy. Felt dizzy fell to the floor and next min got both ankles broken. I was diagnosed with oesteopenia. It was hard not walking for a while and sleeping downstairs but once the swelling had gone down they were fixed with metal plates in each foot over the weeks i kept on developing cellulitis and leg ulcers that hospilitazed me five or six times due to one of the metal plates being infected antibiotics couldnt kill the infection on the metal so the plate had to come out all this was incredibley difficult as i was away from my daughter starting high school and my partner of 20 years decided our relationship was over The consultant agreed to removing the infected plate and i was let out of hospital hours after surgery A few days later i started to feel tired and cold and started to become sick i had gone through so much but had never felt that ill before I was rushed into hospital and was finally diagnosed with SEPSIS. Bacteria had got through a small opening in my wound from surgery. I was in hospital for 3 months having serious antibiotics and blood transfusions and left with bloody bandages that were supposed to be changed daily. I was sent to see a limb reconstruction consultant who told me that if i had seen her three weeks earlier then she would of been able to save my foot. The hospital was so slow at getting me the appointment that now i was to have my foot amputated to save my life as i was slowly dying before my daughters eyes. The consultant assured me that she would take over my care and that i wouldnt have to go back to the other hospital. The below the knee amputation was succesfull and i was very positive and threw myself into physio. All the medical staff have been really pleased with my progress but the nhs limbs are clumsy and dont look like a realistic leg. I just want to look and walk as normal as possible for my 13 year old daughter. I am currently downgrading to a smaller house after the relationship breakdown with a teenager, dog and diasabilty benefits. I cannot afford a leg that actually looks and works like a normal leg to intigrate with society again and to work for a living .PLEASE help me to live an ORDINARY life again by donating towards a new limb
