Story
So I've been thinking of ways to help raise money for my little mate, and figured facing my fear of flying, and jumping out of a plane at 12,000ft would be the best way to do it!!!! 💩💩
So I'm doing a sponsored sky dive on the 6th of October, all to help Josh Halsey, my daughter's 16 year old best friend (💕and one of my favourites 💕).
He’s just a wonderful person, a beautiful soul! And whenever I see him, no matter what he's going through, he always has a smile on his face and a hug for me.
Earlier this year, Josh was diagnosed with an aggressive form of soft tissue cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.
He has already completed a third of his 27wk intensive chemotherapy and he is doing ridiculously well.
Once his treatment is complete he will need a minimum of 2 surgeries and a further 5-8 wks radiotherapy, for which he will need to travel abroad.
Despite all this, Josh worked hard at school all year and smashed his GCSEs with A*, A's and B's. He inspires me no end!
So while most of our kids have looked for summer jobs to earn some money, been out with friends to celebrate the end of school, and generally enjoyed the holidays before its back to reality, Josh obviously hasn't been able to.....due to kicking cancers arse!!!! 👊
Therefore i am raising money to help towards all aspects of Josh's recovery - from treatment and travel expenses to fun days out creating happy memories, doing the things he enjoys like any other teenager.
Now anyone who knows me knows that I’m scared of flying and not at all comfortable on a plane, let alone jumping out of one!! But I want to do this, firstly to be able to give Josh the opportunity to live a more normal life and enjoy himself if and when he feels well enough, and secondly to show him I’m going to face one of my biggest fears because he inspires me, and I love him.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page, and for showing your support 😘
Every sponsor will make a massive difference xx
