In memory

Story

Bethan Roper, 28 left a hole in many peoples lives when she was tragically killed in December 2018. Desribed as a ‘unique’ activist who had a ‘love for life’ Beth couldn’t say no to anybody in need of help. Which is why a trust has been set up to continue her campaigning and work.

The Bethan Roper Trust (Let Sharks B) will promote healthy ocean life, especially sharks. Sharks are a vitally important part of the bio-diversity of the ocean, and yet they are wrongly hated and have become endangered. Bethan and one of her friends went to South Africa volunteering at a project to encourage the appreciation of sharks every year for four years. This trust may do lots of different things to help shark conservation but an example might be to provide a bursary to help a young person from Wales to go to South Africa as a shark conservation volunteer or to help with shark conservation research.
