Story

At age only 7 years old, Charley was diagnosed with Madelung's Deformity. This is a very rare condition which only 1/800,000 people have and only 1/1600,000 people have in both wrists which is what Charley has. Madelung's is caused by a deformity in the growth plates that causes the ulnar and the radius to bend out of shape. This means that Charley lives in constant pain everyday and just doing simple tasks that we all take for granted can be very painful for her. Charley has had a lot of surgery at Treetops Children's Ward at University Hospital North Durham, where they have been successful in preventing the bones bending anymore. Going forward it will be about pain management for Charley. As a thank you for all the team's awesome care of Charley, TeamCharley are raising funds for Treetops Ward for vital equipment and items that will benefit all of the children and parents that stay on the children's ward for a number of medical conditions. Your support is awesome and if anyone is able to donate to this very worthy cause, please click on the attached link. No matter how small the amount, every penny counts.

If you can, run, walk, swim, cycle, bake cakes or do anything at all that you would like to do to support TeamCharley then do get in touch.
