I applied for the Miss British Beauty Curve 2017 with no expectations, and when I read my e-mail to find out that I was successful, I could have cried; with happiness of course.
I have suffered for as long as I can remember with anxiety, depression and low self-esteem issues. My self-esteem issues are almost non-existent now, because I have trained myself to remember that all bodies are beautiful, even mine. But that small part of me told me that I had no hope of getting a response, never mind being told I was successful.

I grew up believing that I was different from other woman because I was bigger, I doubted myself as a person and always set myself up for failure, but I am done with that. I am done with making excuses for myself, for reminding people I meet that I am 'fatter in real life', just so they're aware.
I shouldn't have to make excuses, I shouldn't have to remind people in case they rejected me. And this event is the perfect opportunity to showcase how I've grown as a person, and how I can continue to grow.

Not only will it showcase my growth, but it will give me to chance to be inspiration and role model to all the young women struggling with their own self-esteem. I want to remind them that no matter your size, you're still beautiful, no matter how many names people call you, you're better than that, and you are so worth it.

I want to be able to spread a message, I want to remind women with mental health issues that it doesn't have to stop you, you can push through it and accomplish so many things.

This is my time to shine, this is the moment in my life that could change everything. This is the time in my life in which I can really make a change in not only my own life, but in other women's lives too.
So please, if you can, donate and help me get to my goal so I can guarantee my spot and help with changing how people view women over a size 14, and help them change their views on themselves.
