Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised
We lost Maureen Booth, our beautiful mum/wife/sister/Nanan/Aunty/Mother-in-law to cancer on 26th October.
Rather than spend money on flowers for her funeral, she asked if people would donate a few pounds to the Friends of Rotten Row. They are a group of generous, lovely, social-minded people who do a magnificent job, having taken over the responsibilities of planting and maintaining the borders on one of Southport's most beautiful roads.
Sefton Council said they can no longer afford to do this job and were happy to grass it over before these good people took responsibility for it.
The Friends of Rotten Row totally rely on donations of plants, shrubs, gardening equipment and time. Rotten Row is a beautiful, historic and important landmark in Southport, adjacent to Victoria Park which hosts the world-famous, annual Southport Flower Show
The Friends are so proud to have been acknowledged by Mum and have said they will plant a tree or shrub with a plaque dedicated to her. This fills us with enormous pride and we think it is a fitting memorial.
Although we don't want to pester anybody to do this, we have been asked by numerous people how they can donate so we thought opening this page would make it easier as they don't have any other method of receiving money other than by cheque (which is sometimes awkward and always old fashioned)
The Booth/Tallentire family are totally overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, best wishes, cards and acknowledgements we've received from around the world and are grateful to everybody who has taken time to help us get through this terrible time.
Big love to you all
