The Beds.ie 'Social Media guy' is running the Dublin Marathon 2018 to raise money for Temple Street Children's Hospital.

Every single day, hundreds of sick children and their worried families come through the doors of Temple Street in need of world-class medical care. We raise the funds needed to ensure that these children have access to the very best paediatric equipment, facilities and supports when they need it most.

Temple Street relies on the support and generosity of people like you to raise €5 million every year. These funds are crucial to funding lifesaving equipment, hospital wards redevelopment and research.

What your donations can do:

€10 will buy a syringe, essential for administering pain relief to a sick child.

€15 will go towards multisensory toys which are specially adapted to aid rehabilitation.

€20 will buy 4 special neonatal masks - small enough to fit a new born baby's face

€50 will go towards the cost of an operating microscope

Temple Street is an acute national paediatric hospital. Major specialities at Temple Street today include neonatal and paediatric surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, nephrology, orthopaedics, ENT and plastic surgery. The national centre for paediatric ophthalmology, the National Paediatric Craniofacial Centre (NPCC), the national airways management centre, the national meningococcal laboratory, the National Centre for Inherited Metabolic Disorders (NCIMD), the National Newborn Screening Service (NNSS) and the Irish Meningitis and Sepsis Reference Laboratory (IMSRL) are also based at Temple Street. Temple Street cares for 150,000 children per year including over 45,000 who attend the Emergency Department (ED). A staff of 90 Consultant and over 950 nursing, HSCPs (Health and Social Care Professionals) and other staff provide this care.
