Bedworth Railway Station is a small station in the heart of Warwickshire. The line was officially opened in 1850 but closed due to the breeching axe on January 18th 1965. The station was re opened again in 1988!
The station was opened with many attending, local school Nicholas Chamberline secondary school had took some time out to plant some trees & flowers. Sadly the station became unloved and a shadow in itself until Nov 2017, Stuart looked on the then train operator London Midland on a unrelated matter and came across the station adoption scheme. After joining Stuart then asked his work colleague John to join the project and he agreed. Our small team started growing with other volunteers joining and what started as 1 person became 11 hard working volunteers!
Station Adoption is a national scheme that gets communities to work with the railway to take pride in their local railway & it's station. The station adoption is a voluntary scheme and no one is paid for their time and effort!
Our group are desperately needing tools & equipment for our station as well as plants and any other item needed for the project.
