Story
Our Dad sadly passed away on 1st February 2021, losing his battle to Covid-19 which he fought very hard to the very end. Dad was a kind, caring, selfless man that spent most of his life helping others. He has left us with fond memories and a huge hole in our hearts.
Our Dad was critically ill in intensive care for 16 days. This was such a difficult and heartbreaking time for him and us as we couldn't visit him, be there with him to comfort him and hold his hand due to the Covid-19 hospital restrictions. The valuable communication we had with our Dad was via facetime. The ward had a limited number of I-pads available so sometimes this was tricky to organise. Therefore we would like to raise as much money as possible to provide I-pads to help other patients and families feel connected during this difficult time. Facetime helped us feel close to our Dad, we were able to see and speak to him and he felt our presence. Contact with loved ones in itself is a form of healing and strength for patients that are critically ill. During our facetime conversations with Dad we would often have general, motivational and heartfelt conversations together with reading poems, praying and singing. This helped us get through this very sad time.
Please donate to this cause in memory of our amazing Dad, Bharatkumar Shah who is dearly missed each and every day 💙
