Bekaa Rescue & Shelter is a safe haven to many dogs rescued from abuse and abandonment in Lebanon. Unfortunately as violence towards dogs increases coupled with owners abandoning their dogs due to the economic crisis, the shelter has now outgrown the ever-increasing number of rescues.

While it is important to note that for many dogs Bekaa Rescue & Shelter is a temporary stopover until they can be rehomed in Canada or Europe, it is paramount the shelter can accommodate the dogs adequately.

Until recently the space has been sufficient but it's now become apparent as the number of dogs rescued daily is on the increase, the shelter will need some renovations to support the rescues. Bekaa Rescue & Shelter intends to build a roof over the outer half of the playground with iron material so that it will protect the dogs in winter from the snow. Another benefit of the roof means the dogs will have more space to roam to avoid any quarreling or accidents between them.
