Story
Belbroughton Recreation Centre is looking to redevelop its outdoor equipment as it does not currently meet the needs of the residents. The existing equipment is only suitable for very small children and, in a village that is so popular with families and active people, we feel we would benefit significantly from facilities that appeal to a wider audience. Using the existing play and picnic space by the tennis courts, we want to create somewhere that older children can hang out in safety with their friends; a place where parents and grandparents can take their children and meet other people in the same situation; somewhere people of all ages can exercise and socialise together.
Our village has a strong community spirit and we want our new area to reflect that. If you would like to help us build something amazing for our community then we would love to hear from you. All donations of £50 and over will be rewarded with an engraved brick with wording of your choice which could be a name, a company name, a child’s name or an in memoriam name. This brick will be permanently fixed to the outside wall of the Recreation Centre so that the generosity of the donors can be seen for generations to come.
The following gives you an idea of how your money can help us create an amazing outdoor space:
• £50 would buy one square metre of new flooring
• £100 would buy a bin
• £250 would buy a bench
• £500 would buy a picnic bench
• £1000 would buy A small piece of play Equipment
• £2000 would buy a medium piece of play equipment
• £3000 would buy a piece of exercise equipment
• £5000 would buy a large piece of play equipment
If you would like to donate more than these amounts we would be very happy to discuss the best way to recognise and reward significant donations.
You can contact us directly at belbroughtonplayground@gmail.com or call Ali Skidmore on 07411 384384
We are aiming for £100,000 and are also applying to other funding bodies. Once all the money has been raised we will invite children, parents, grandparents and interested residents to an open session to help us finalise the design of the best playground we can.
Thanks for your help.

Great project and lovely that it comes 100 years after the end of WW1 when it was originally bought for the village to celebrate the peace. Good luck with it!
