Story
When I was a little girl, I had a white dolls but wanted a doll that looked like me. I believe that every little girl should have a doll that they can relate to. I noticed that there are not many dolls of colour in toy shops and even those that are sold have European facial features and straight hair.
I believe that most women of colour would have benefited from dolls of colour and realised their beauty. I remember seeing a video of children of colour where they were showed black and white dolls, all the children thought the black dolls were ugly. I found it sad as this affects many people of colour. It is important for children to have dolls they relate to, dolls that have their facial features and hair texture.
My business aim to create dolls of colour that children can relate to. I believe this would benefit children of colour to grow knowing their complexion and curly are beautiful. These dolls are not fashion dolls but beautiful toy that they will enjoy and relate to.
I feel that a change is needed and I want to achieve that one doll at a time. These dolls will be enjoyed by children from all racial background.
