Story

Bella was born on the 6th March 2017 with what we now know as Campomelic Dysplasia. She never had an easy start to life, she had several different problems to face. Born with very narrow upper airways, unable to breathe on her own, she had a tracheostomy at 1 month old and was ventilated 24/7. Bella also had dislocated hips, bone and limb abnormalaties, suspected severe hearing loss and fibular hemimelia. That's just to name a few.

After Bella had her traché she was coming along really well. She would get out for walks in her pram, watch movies on her projctor and enjoy endless amounts of snuggles off her mummies. As Bella started getting bigger we began to run into more complications with her lungs. The doctors suspected that they weren't getting any bigger and after a CT scan we found that her lungs werent growing. We knew eventually the time would come when we had to say goodbye to our Bella Boo. She put up a bigger fight than what we could of asked her too. But on the 29th August 2017, our princess fell asleep for the last time.

Bella spent 5 months in PICU, and we will forever be grateful for them 5 precious months. The care we received was absoutley amazing. We cant fault them, not only are the staff amazing medical professionals, they make you feel like you're all friends. We are fundraising for the PICU in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children Belfast in Bella's memory. The more we raise, the more help can go towards helping seriously sick children.
