A few weeks ago we found out the devestating news that our 8 year old blue staffy Bella has a cancerous tumour. We’d taken her to the vets to have a lump looked and that day the vet decided to take a some cell samples. A week later the results came back as cancerous. Bella then went on to have a tissue biopsy to see what grade the tumour was at. These results came back last week and we were told the positive news that the tumour was a low grade one and can be operated on and removed. The position of the tumour itself is a little tricky and therefore Bella will have to see a specialist. This of course has already cost us a great deal in vet bills and despite us responsibly having Bella insured, they will only pay out £500 for the procedures...the biopsies have cost us that and more alone. Bella is due to see a specialist at Abby House in Leeds for the operation as we would rather put ourselves into debt if we knew we could save our little pack member.

Bella, like every dog in every family, means so much to us and has seen us through our most joyful and difficult times. She is our best friend and our (almost) 2 year old daughter is besotted with her. We are not ready to say our goodbyes just yet and neither is she. The upcoming surgery, although lifesaving, is going to cripple us financially and typically is taking place just weeks before Christmas.

We’ve had so much love and support from friends and family with this and so many have come forward to say they’d love to help. Therefore I’ve set up this Crowd Funding page in hope that if anyone can help they will. We’ve not been given a definite total with costs but is likely in the region of £1400. So if you would like to help us, we would truly be so grateful.
