Story
As many of you will have seen the outdoor at The Bellbird School leaves a lot to be desired. With this in mind the school have embarked on a fundraising campaign to meet the cost of £18,000 to resurface this space and make it usable all year round.
Katie Kendall, The Head teacher of the Bellbird is leading on the fundraising efforts this summer by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, and impressive 5,895 metres to the summit her and her husband have been in training since Christmas.
For Katie, keeping physically fit is something that is very important, as it has helped her to have the physical stamina and emotional wellbeing to be a mum to 4 children and Head teacher at The Bellbird. Katie’s fitness has seen her embark on some impressive challenge’s such as the Moonwalk, several half marathons and full marathon and climbing the 3 Peaks. Katie is keen to start fitness in Key stage 1 creating an all year round outdoor area that the pupils can access every day both for learning and physical development, and help then understand from an early age the benefits of outdoor physical activity.
The children at the Bellbird will be matching Katie’s efforts, step by step over the next few weeks with a challenge set by Katie.
We are asking you to dig deep and make a donation, no matter how small to help make this area amazing dream become a reality
Due to a generous donation from FABS our PTA and some local grant funding we have been able to raise a fairly substantial amount towards these works but need your support for our final push.
