Weʼre raising £2,000 to assist the great work carried out by four wonderful hen rehoming charities and organisations on behalf of Belle & Fleur and their sisters xx

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

Three years ago my partner and I rehomed three ex-caged hens from the British Hen Welfare Trust.

Margot, Barbara and Jerry, our first tatty-batties, ginger ninjas, feathered velociraptors, demolishers of all things garden and eaters of the greens - these wee girls were spared the journey to the slaughter house and diverted to a life of retirement and freedom in Dorset.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of being owned by a rescue hen, will understand how they deftly creep into your psyche and make you want to do MORE and rescue MORE!!

I fell in love with these gorgeous girls and realised what wonderful creatures they are, with innate needs that just can't be met when forced to live in cages, barns or over-stocked intensive environments.

I wanted to do more for these ladies so I volunteered with the British Hen Welfare Trust to assist at re-homing days, helping more ex-commercial hens find their forever homes rather than the premature end they are destined for at 72 weeks old.

I am so thankful to the BHWT for all the work they do, they are not however alone in their fight for these hens. There are a number of charities and organisations run by volunteers in the UK who work tirelessly to rehome ex-commercial hens to happy retirements.

I have decided that the proceeds from our Spring raffle will be shared amongst four of these great organisations;

The British Hen Welfare Trust
Phoenix Hen Rescue
LuckyHens Rescue Wigan
Foal Farm Animal Rescue

One for each week we were blessed with Fleur's presence. This way we can raise much needed funds for as many organisations as possible over the coming years.

Details of the raffle prizes are on my facebook page www.facebook.com/littlecagefighters

TICKETS ARE £5 EACH - EACH TICKET WILL BE ENTERED INTO A PRIZE DRAW TO TAKE PLACE ON 31st MAY 2019

IN ORDER TO RECEIVE YOUR TICKETS I NEED YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS - Please email haidy@thehandyangel.co.uk or private message me once you have made your donation.

Thank you so much xx

Hi, my name is Haidy, I rehomed three ex-caged hens in 2016 and so began my journey of falling in love with these wonderful birds. I now have 10 rescue girls and volunteer for a UK rehoming charity. I want to help bring an end to the cage age and promote True Free Range farming.
