Story
I founded Be More Dandelion because I’ve seen firsthand how domestic abuse can leave women feeling isolated, powerless, and disconnected from themselves. Survivors often struggle to trust, to feel safe in their own bodies, and to remember that they are worthy of joy, confidence, and choice. I wanted to create something that went beyond traditional support — something that would help women reclaim their sense of self through movement, through dance, and through connection.
The dandelion is the symbol at the heart of this work. It’s a humble, overlooked weed, yet it’s one of the most resilient in nature. It grows through cracks in concrete, blooms in challenging conditions, and its seeds carry hope far and wide. That’s what I see in the women we support: strength that can survive even the hardest circumstances, and the potential to spread courage and confidence wherever they go.
Your donation will help us expand Be More Dandelion and make these programmes accessible to more women across the UK. Funds go directly to running trauma-aware workshops, providing online resources for women who can’t attend in person, and offering places on our programmes for those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to join. Every contribution helps a woman take a small but powerful step toward feeling grounded, connected, and capable again.
Together, we can create safe spaces where women rediscover their bodies, their movement, and their voices. We can give them the tools to rise, flourish, and, like the dandelion, spread their seeds of hope, strength, and resilience into the world.
