Story

I started the year by completing RED JANUARY, where I took part daily in some sort of physical activity. These consisted of walking, running, hiking, swimming and even playing football, I achieved my goals for that month. I then wanted another way to raise money for MIND - Mental Health Charity.

MIND provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. "We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect."

The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that each year approximately one million people die from suicide, which represents a global mortality rate of 16 people per 100,000 or one death every 40 seconds. It is predicted that by 2020 the rate of death will increase to one every 20 seconds.

Looking at these estimates, made me want to complete a little challenge for the year, and that's when I came up with a Triathlon.

A year ago, the aim of doing a triathlon would of been out of reach and too much for me to handle. But changing my thinking, doing exercise every day, I believe this can be accomplished.

This isn't just about fundraising for MIND, its also about me achieving my goals, and not letting anything get in the way, even a Mental illness!

I want to say a big thank you to my great family, my top class friends, and even workmates for supporting me through hard times, you know who you guys are, and I wouldn't be at the point of competing in a triathlon if it wasn't for your help, so thank you!

Thanks for the Read, and please Donate!

Cheers!
