50k in 1 day
During lockdown, my mum was diagnosed with MS leaving my 12 year old self extremely worried. Luckily, overtime ive grew to understand the condition and how it affects my mum.
However ive always struggled to reason with the lack of cure especially with modern developments in human biology and the rapid improvements. So rather than sitting doing nothing to help, i will be doing this sponsored walk hoping that the money raised by all of may 50k may make a difference.
MS is an autoimmune condition where the immune system is constantly attacking the nervous system, fatiguing muscles and possibly later disabling them. There is no found cure but is treatable. However the symptoms of MS are hard to neutralise even with treatment. Someone with MS commonly struggles with day to day life. I have seen firsthand the large fatigue from the chronic disease with my mums often requirement for a mid day nap and sometime inability to walk up stairs from complete lack of energy
To encourage donations i will be doing extra 50km walks per every £1,000 (excluding the first £1,000) which will be done on consecutive days. So at £2,000 i must walk an extra 50km in 1 day At £3,000 i must walk an extra 100km in 2 days At £4,000 i must walk 150km in 3 days Continuing for every £1,000 i raise. This challenge will be done after gcses which is roughly a month after the initial 50km
Thank you
