In August 2018, I will be going to Malawi on a 10 day expedition with a group of Youth and support workers from The Engine House Church in Redruth.

I will be one of a group of 9 young people and are looking to raise money so I can contribute a fair amount towards the trip.

We will be heading to Hope Village; which is a ministry of Hope to the Nations situated on 13 hectares of land in the South of Malawi in a region called Chikhwawa.

Hope village run a Pre-School, Daycare, Youth Group, Children's Home, Clinic & Baby Ministry, Organic Farming, Job Skills Training, Village Outreach and Pastoral Care.

We will be getting involved in every area we can from teaching lessons to running Youth Groups, caring for babies and children and helping on the farm.

Personally this trip will be life changing for me. I will be completely out of my comfort zone - in a world surrounded by gadgets and brand names not to mention flushing toilets and brick built homes I really want to take myself back to basics and have a true understanding of how other people have to live. Also knowing that I can be part of a mission to help give hope those much less fortunate than me will be extremely rewarding and will provide me with the passion to continue down the volunteering route not just in my youth but throughout my life.
