Story
I'll be in Kenya for a month working with the local community to build homes and schools, provide fresh drinking water and helping to protect wildlife from poachers. I'll also be taking part in a marine conservation project to clear plastics from the beaches. The money I raise will be used to buy clothes, bedding and medical supplies most of which will be donated locally when I leave.

4 years agoToday is the day. Everything is packed and I'm just waiting to go to school and get the coach to the airport. Thank you very much for all your support and donations and for coming along to our various events during the last 18 months. I'm feeling nervous but very excited too.

4 years agoMy first sponsored event is to take part in the Great North 10k on 7th July (competing against my Dad) and I would welcome any sponsorship you can spare. The money will be used to buy kit and medical supplies which will be donated locally when I leave Kenya.

I'm 16 years old and have just finished my GCSEs. I love being out in the mountains. Travelling to East Africa and being away from my family will be a challenge but I am looking forward to helping the people and animals in Kenya (and playing football with the children).
