I'm excited to have been accepted onto a 10 week project volunteering in poor rural communitues in northern Ghana with the government sponsored organisation "International Service Overseas." I'll be working on various projects focusing on social issues with local groups including children, women and the disabled.

As part of the whole experience, all volunteers commit to fundraising at least £800. None of this money is going towards personal expenses for my volunteering. It is all going back to the charity and all the amazing work they do. I have a number of fundraising intiatives planned, including being a "Butler" (general Dogsbody) for the day at a fundraising party and climbing the 3 peaks in the Yorkshire Dales in one day.

My big challenge is that because I had to wait until my 18th birthday in July to apply for this, I now have a very short time scale to raise the money before leaving for Ghana on October 9th. I would really appreciate any support you can give me towards my £800 target and will happily talk to you about the project in more detail if you would like me to.
